SCHOLARSHIPS

Providing scholarships to Michigan-based women is one of the many missions of the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation. The University Relations committee is organized to focus on scholarship development and distribution, the development of mentoring programs for girls, young women entering college, or women returning to the work force after an extended period of time and providing educational and technology programs for the community.

MCWT 2008 FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM LAUNCHED – Deadline is 2/27/2008

The Michigan Council of Women In Technology Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of its 2008 University Scholarship, Research Grant and Laptop Stipend Program. The program offers 2008/2009 college and university level scholarships for:

One high school senior ($5,000 annually and renewable for 4 years);
One undergraduate student ($5,000 annually and renewable for 3 years) , and
One graduate-level student ($5,000 annually and renewable for 2 additional years)

In addition, we are offering one graduate or undergraduate level research grant of $3000, which can be applied to research materials, lab requirements, travel and presentation needs.

In addition to the scholarships, we are also offering 3 fully-configured laptops and accessories for 3 lucky students.

The deadline for submission of either application is February 27th, 2008. So, don’t delay!

2007 Highlights

The Partnership Recognition and Scholarship Award Event on May 3^rd at the Birmingham Country Club was a warm and positive evening. MCWT and the MCWT Foundation extended thanks to a multitude of partners and sponsors. Three lucky recipients received university scholarships and three deserving candidates received laptops and software.

Our scholarship winners were:
- Chelsey Baker – Four-year University Scholarship
- Katherine Maertens – Three-year University Scholarship
- Aisha Yousuf – Two-year post-graduate University Scholarship
Our laptop winners were Vickie Galvin, Christina Maertens, and Mary Neuhaus
